1. Borland C and Turbo C is not the same compiler although both are by Borland. In general, Turbo C or Turbo C++ are sufficient for compiling C programs. Most study centres use Turbo C or Turbo C++ to write and compile C programs
2. After installation you need to do nothing in most cases. Simply write the program within Turbo C and compile from there. Unlike Java, Turbo is has an IDE (Integrated Development Environment or simply editor). So, although there is facility for command line compilation in Turbo C, in most cases one compiles from within the IDE. So path settings are not required in case of default installation. If you want to store and compile in other directories, simply put the Turbo C folder in path within autoexec.batch in DOS or in the path setting environment in Windows XP.
